Mary Jones has been a part of the Talk of Connecticut family since 2002. Her first show, Career Connection with Mary Jones, was a natural outflow of her years as an owner of a corporate recruiting firm. In 2003, Mary changed the format to an upbeat, women?s lifestyle show. Her signature sign-off is Believe in Yourself?an overall message of self-confidence, self-esteem, and the power of a positive attitude. Mary is a contributing writer in The Power of Persistence, published in 2009, which became #1 on Amazon?s self-improvement list, and a co-author of Incredible Life, published 2010. She is co-editor of Women and Friendship, 2011. Mary had done a weekly segment on NBC Connecticut for 4 years. Her show has evolved into a strong community of listeners who share conversation and insights into issues of everyday life, everything connected to home, health and heart. She has translated these topics into frequent convention and workshop appearances and into her popular bimonthly Girls Night Out events. Mary Jones can be heard on The Talk of Connecticut Monday-Friday with Brad Davis between 9 and 10am and again 12-2pm on The Mary Jones show.

The Inaugural Diversity & Leadership Conference will be held in Connecticut on Friday October 19, 2012. This year?s theme is From Awareness to Action. In today?s global economy, a growing number of organizations have become fully aware of the value of diversity as a business imperative. To ensure their competitive advantage, however, organizations must shift from awareness to action by bringing about culture change and promoting environments of inclusion.
The purpose of this conference is to give participants an opportunity to explore tools and resources to transform diversity awareness into actionable results ? and to equip themselves with essential skills to contribute to their organization?s goals. It is an opportunity to network and share knowledge with others. Speakers and various panel sessions will offer a unique perspective on what it takes to make it on the diversity journey. Garrison Leykam will moderate the ?Essential Leadership Skills? session. Leykam has been featured on ESPN 2?s ?Extreme Magazine? television program and in the Boston Sunday Globe for his leadership skills and he taught ?Diversity? at Sacred Heart University and ?Leadership and ?Management and Organizations? at the University of New Haven. He has a Masters Degree from New York City?s New School for Social Research and has held senior management positions with MCI Telecommunications, Grand Circle Travel and DSL.net.
